Wirtz Media (“Wirtz Media”, “we”, “us”) is a media planning and buying agency based in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this policy, we describe how we collect, use, store and share personal information through our website and through the tools we use to manage advertising for our clients. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable Canadian privacy laws.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us by email, by phone or through a form on our website, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message.

Website usage information. We use cookies and analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, on our website. Through these tools, we collect information such as the pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type and approximate location. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Client advertising account information. When a client gives us access to its advertising accounts, we access campaign settings and performance data in those accounts, such as campaign names, budgets, impressions, clicks, costs and conversions. This data describes advertising performance and does not normally include personal information about individual members of the public.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to respond to enquiries, provide and report on our services to clients, plan and manage advertising campaigns, operate and improve our website, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Google user data (Google Ads API)

Wirtz Media operates an internal application, “Claude Google Ads MCP”, that connects to the Google Ads API. Only Wirtz Media staff sign in to this application, using their own Google accounts.

  • Data accessed: We use the application to read Google Ads data that the signed-in staff member already has access to, including the list of accessible accounts, account names, campaign settings and performance metrics.
  • How we use it: We use this data only to prepare reports, analysis and recommendations for the clients whose Google Ads accounts we manage.
  • How we store it: Sign-in credentials are stored on the staff member’s computer. Reports prepared from the data are stored with our client files.
  • How we share it: We process the data with Claude, an AI assistant provided by Anthropic, to prepare reports, and we share reports with the client the data belongs to. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to any other party except as described in this section or as required by law.
  • AI models: We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Wirtz Media’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Staff can remove the application’s access to their Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Service providers

We use service providers for email, file storage, website hosting, analytics and AI tools. These providers process information on our behalf, and we share only what they need to provide their services. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.

Storage and security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, such as access controls and password protection, to protect personal information. Access to client advertising accounts is limited to the Wirtz Media staff who work on those accounts.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, and then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it, subject to legal and contractual limits. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

We may update this policy. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
